Jessica Fogan is finishing her third and final year at Louisiana State University. Graduating as a mass communication major with a focus in public relations, she also has minors in English and business. Fogan is also a member of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center class of 2020.
Having grown up in New Orleans, Louisiana, Fogan has every intention of returning after graduating from law school. In terms of the type of law she hopes to practice, Fogan is interested in a combination of corporate and maritime law. The interest comes from being surrounded by her father’s work for so many years. From his years of active duty in the Coast Guard and civilian work running the Port of New Orleans, she has been exposed to the maritime world throughout her life. In addition, after his retirement from government work, her dad has worked for both an offshore company and a shipping company, piquing the interest into the corporate realm of business. She hopes to combine the two in work as an in-house attorney or be put on retainer for either a shipping or an offshore company.
